Dr. Stechschulte, an ophthalmologist, is a graduate of the University of Kansas School of Medicine and completed her Ophthalmology residency in 2005. She serves as an assistant clinical professor at the University of Kansas Medical Center where in addition to her responsibilities treating patients with cataracts, she serves as a mentor to ophthalmology residents.

Dr. Stechschulte completed her Anterior Segment and Glaucoma Fellowship at Stiles Eyecare in July 2012 where she worked under the supervision of Dr. Stiles and played an active role in all facets of care for patients with glaucoma, including medical management and surgical treatment.

Stiles Eyecare Excellence was honored in August 2012 when Dr. Stechschulte joined the practice full-time. “It’s a privilege to have Dr. Stechschulte working with us,” says Dr. Stiles. “She possesses excellent clinical skills, and I’m proud to have her as a colleague. She’s the consummate professional, and her calm and friendly disposition never fails to earn patients’ trust and admiration.”

Dr. Stechschulte and her husband David are the parents of three wonderful and high-energy children: Will, Julia and George. “Our kids fill our days with much joy and laughter, but not very much sleep!” she jokes. There’s not much spare time in Dr. Stechschulte’s schedule these days, but when she finds an extra moment, you’re likely to find her enjoying an outdoor activity or hanging out with her husband, kids or her extended family.
